You may have heard that savvy individuals and companies have strategies to pay the minimum amount of property taxes, that is true. As we all know during the housing boom property values increased rapidly in most places and property taxes kept pace. Now that the bubble has burst many property assessments reflect the higher values of 2006 or so, it makes sense that municipalities wish to keep the assessment and revenues high.
